What to pack and what to leave home for Mama, Dad & baby.

Every hospital is a little different so ask your OBGYN/ Midwife to see what your hospital will have. For example our midwife said not to bring much for baby and even if we didn't bring anything we'd be okay, aka they have all the essentials you'll need!

Since we didn't do a water birth we could have left the suits at home, we just didn't know how uncomfortable I would be and how restricted I was due to my induction. Definitely did not read my book, I don't even know if Jay read his.

Honestly I don't think Jay touched his computer and we defiantly didn't use our fancy camera! We did however take pictures and videos using Jay's iPhone.

I didn't end up needing my birth plan or a notebook/pen. So this is something you could carry with you electronic. Same with your contact list, insurance card.

I also did not use hand lotion, although some people find this relaxing for their partner to massage their hands and feet while waiting for active labor.

Same with lip balm. I personally didn't use it, but I know for some your lips get so chapped and dry.

I did bring my own water bottle which I never ended up using because the hospital gave me water cups consistently!

Here's what we would bring:

We would bring a fire stick, Roku or something to stream from. The hospital we were at had the ability to plug in fire stick, so be sure to ask your OB or Midwife team before you go.

We would bring more food and snacks! You think you are overpacking and moving into the room, and that's okay. We ended up staying for about 4 days when we thought we would be in and out of the hospital.
