Gluten-Free, Vegan, Holiday Spritz
The Holiday continued with another family favorite, Spritz. However, this year we shook it up a bit by trying a new recipe with almond paste; and we made them green! This recipe not only smells delightful, but the taste is excellent. I may even try these for Valentine's day.
INGREDIENTS
1 pkg. ( 7 ounces) almond paste
1 tbsp flax seed
3 tbsp water
6 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup Earth Balanced Vegan Butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 3/4 cups gluten-free flour
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375*.
Break up the almond paste with fingers in a large bowl. Add flax seed and water. Beat with an electric mixer at low speed until smooth.
Then beat in sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add the salt, and vanilla, and mix well.
Stir in flour (1/3 at a time), blending the mixture well.
Fill spritz gun/ or pastry bag. Pipe onto parchment paper lined baking sheet.
