Gluten-Free Vegan Belgium Waffles
We love waffles and all things breakfast food. This is our favorite waffle recipe made gluten-free, and vegan.
INGREDIENTS
1 ¾ cups gluten-free flour mix
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar (or monk fruit sweetener)
⅛ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1 ½ cups almond milk (or milk alternatives)
1/2 cup applesauce
¼ cup melted vegan butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS
Heat the Belgium waffle iron and coat it with cooking spray or melted butter.
Whisk the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl
Pour about ¾ cup of the batter into the plate of the waffle maker and close it. Cook for approximately 3-5 minutes or until steam no longer escapes. Note: Most waffle makers come with a light that lets you know when they are done.
Remove the waffle using a fork or tongs and serve with your favorite toppings!
