DIY By YOU

I will start this off by saying I don’t know it all when it comes to home projects, even the small stuff. However, I’ve developed a pretty good base skill set through trial and error with lots of practice mixed in. There are so many resources for today's DIY-er, even someone with limited skills or practice. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve looked up how-to’s on Youtube or an online search. This past week a client wanted to have a carpet stair runner installed, had a I done one before? Definitely not but I was confident in my ability to follow directions as well as leaning on my previous history with similar projects. You know what I did? Haha yes, you guessed it, good ol’Youtube. As with many processes, there’s usually many ways to reach your goal or in this case a stair runner. I found a few different ways to go about installing the runners and ended up picking the way I felt most confident would leave a great result and be within my abilities. It turned out great and the client loved it! So don’t fret when you need to hang some pictures or replace a door knob, if you’re willing to learn and follow directions you too can become a DIY-er. If not, you can always hire someone like me to clean up the aftermath ;)
